Condition

There is slight scuffing to the edges with it being more apparent in the corners. There is no paint loss or scratching and the work is in good condition.

This painting was commissioned by Rodney Gooch for the Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association, prior to his formation of Mulga Bore Artists. It is included in one of the earliest exhibitions of the artist's work, curated by Anthony and Beverley Knight of the Alcaston House Gallery, and held at the Flinders Lane Gallery. Until Alcaston House Gallery opened its doors to the public the Knights would stage exhibitions in other Melbourne galleries.

This painting is representative of the artist's earlier works where the underlying lines represent the growth of yam roots, overlaid with delicately placed multi-coloured dots and marks representing the plant life nourished by ceremony.
