Catalogue Note

Siegfried Bing displayed favrile glass vases with the same iridescent ribbons as the vase offered here at the Graften Galleries in London in 1899.  Louis Comfort TIffany showed a similarily shaped vase at the 1902 Turin Exposition.  Outdoor advertising mogul and former circus owner Colonel Burr Robbins purchased the vase ca. 1900 for his house at 746 Robbins Terrace in Chicago.
