Condition
Overall in good condition. With expected scratches, discolorations and remnants of stains scattered throughout the top. The top with one large semi-circle shape area of darker discoloration that appears the result of a liquid, measuring 4 inches in diameter. The edge of the table with an old restoration to the circular joint to one side, which appears to have a split the wood underneath, which appears to have been stabilized, but is still slightly visible. The other circular joint on the same side with a more extensive previous restoration that has been overpainted. There is cracking to the repair and with losses and more serious cracking the material used to cover the screw that is now partially exposed. The entire area has been covered with a red paint and measures approximately 3 inches and fades outward in an effort to disguise the repair. The opposite side with a loss to the bottom edge measuring 4 inches. The underside of the table with marks, scratches, paint residue and circular impressions and stains. Analysis of the patterns leads us to believe that this table was originally a desk, possibly from Tunisie. There was probably a drawer attached underneath and the circular marks are impressions from the bolt of a Mouille desk lamp. The metal legs likely cut down and with chips to paint, rubbing and surface scratches. Each of the legs with one hole, which appears to be for a screw. Two ends with adhesive felt pads.
