TWO ENAMEL AND DIAMOND BROOCHES, LATE 19TH CENTURY

Description

One designed as a butterfly, the wings and antennae decorated with polychrome plique-a-jour enamel, detachable brooch pin, French assay marks, the other designed as a pair of opposing dragonflies with plique-a-jour enamel wings and diamond enhanced eyes, surrounding a stylised Kingcup, the leaves and buds further embellished with enamelled decoration, French assay marks.

Condition

Both in overall good condition, dragonfly with some wear and slight damage to plique-a-jour enamel wings, and small chip to one enamel leaf. Butterfly with some fine crazing to enamel, otherwise in excellent condition.
