Condition

An interesting group. The revolving section of the desk calendar is loose. The Surmount is loose and one side is bent of the plinth on which it rests. The cylindrical malachite segments to each side are present but some have cracks and old repairs. The card component is discoloured. The gilt-metal mounts are nice quality and attractively engraved. The malachite plaques on the base are in good order. The gilt-metal and glass néssaire in the form of a book is nice quality. There are components lacking to the interior (a thimble and possibly a tape measure). Some of the minutely mounted stones on the pieces inside are lacking and the scissors have a break. The red inset is loose. The lacquer casket has some distress. There is a chip to the lid. It is in nice original condition. The metal rim of the base is loose. All the pieces inside are in good order. The gilt-metal mounted casket is good although the velvet exterior is very distressed. Interior good but lacking one glass bottle and stopper.
