Condition

There is a 1/8 in. wide scratch about half way down the right side of the painting, about 1 1/2 in. in from the edge. There is minor spotting and crazing throughout, and considerable cracking towards the bottom edge of the painting, which is visible in the catalogue photo. There is possible damage due to moisture throughout, with concentrated areas staining in the clouds above the ship's sails. Towards the center of the photo there are several faint chalky streaks of residue, the longest measuring 9 in. across. and one measuring 5 in. up and down.
