Description

each of thin rectangular form, incised and gilt to the front face of one with two Luohan seated on rocks, with two four-line calligraphic inscriptions above, the other depicting Buddha seated in a grotto below a four-line inscription, each gilt to the reverse with six lines of calligraphy, the translucent stone of mottled light and dark green tone with black and white speckled inclusions, wood stands 

Condition

The jade plaques are in good overall condition with the exception of an 8 x 4mm. V-shaped polished corner to the bottom edge of one, and light rubbing and loss to the gilding on the front and back of each. It should be noted that the stone is of a slightly cooler and darker green tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest. The wood stands have been re-glued.
