Description

the red lacquer top incised and painted in shades of black, red and green on a red ground with a central landscape panel flanked by round panels enclosing birds and flowers, the waist decorated with flower scrolls and keyfret, all supported on square-sectioned legs further decorated with floral scrolls terminating in hoofed feet, with traces of gilding in the incised areas

Condition

The overall condition is very good apart from minor condition issues. The gilding within the carved lines is missing, but the lacquer surface is in good condition with only minor expected scratches and chips. Only the tips of all four feet are restored, due to expected water damage. The colors are rather muted, but retain their colorful details.
