Description

the ruyi-shaped head deeply carved in relief enclosing a landscape scene with an immortal, possibly Lan Caihe carrying a staff and basket of flowers, amid rockwork, pine and paulownia trees and below swirling clouds above, with a bat carved at the top, the arched shaft decorated with archaistic scrollwork and auspicious emblems interrupted in the middle by a ruyi sceptre placed in a vase and rising from tumultous waves below cloud swirls, the end decorated with a bat and lotus spray, the reverse with a cash diaper ground 

Condition

The sceptre is generally in good condition overall. There are expected age cracks, and there are areas to the edges which have been repainted.
