Description

the shallow circular well of the tray rising gently to a broad everted rim with a barbed foliate beaded edge, all supported on a slightly flared tall footring, the base inscribed in red Longqing er nian, An Ding Shi Jing Ban ('Second year of Longqing, Made for the Use of the Anding Garden')

Condition

There are some minor chips to the beaded edge and a few old retouches to flakes on the underside of the rim. The wrinkled surface of the center of the tray is stablized. The underside has been re-lacquered, appears to have age.
