The overall condition is very good. The mark is very clearly impressed. The actual color is slightly less yellow and greener than in the catalogue illustration.

Catalogue Note

It is rather unusual to find a pear-shaped form vase with lug handles in the teadust glaze.  The form harks back to the archaic bronze hu and the glaze imitates the green patination found on bronzes.  A flambĂ© glazed Yongzheng marked vessel in the Palace Museum in Beijing, is illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum, vol. 37, Hong Kong, 1999, no. 180. Teadust hu shaped vessels are more frequently found in the fang hu form seen in the example sold in these rooms 10th April 2006, lot 1631.
