Description
of well potted hexagonal section, the steep sides resting on a spreading foot and rising to a waisted neck flanked by a pair of tubular handles, applied overall in a deep olive-green speckled glaze, the base impressed with the six-character seal mark
Condition
The piece is generally in very good condition overall. The actual color of the piece is very close to the color in the catalogue illustration.

A vase of similar form from the Hall Family Collection (inventory no.278) was sold in these rooms, 29th April 2000, lot 556.
Compare two larger vases of similar form and with tea-dust glaze; one is illustrated in Chinese Ceramics in the Idemitsu Collection, Tokyo, 1987, no. 965; and the other from the collection of W.W. Winkworth was sold in our London rooms, 12th December 1972, lot 130, and again in these rooms, 16th May 1977, lot 158.
