Description

  • A walnut relief of the deposition
Christ's body being lifted from the cross by three disciples, the holy women and St. John behind, cross replaced, on later wood base, a section of the drapery of the holy woman on the right replaced

Condition

The cross from above Christ's head replaced, the back section of proper left figure is a later replacement. The rock-work base is later and associated onto a plinth. There is some worming evident, in particular to the base. The back has been shaved, but a long time ago, possibly when attached to the base. Otherwise the condition appears to be good.
