  • 26cm., 10¼in.
possibly designed by H. Regnier, the bowl with a moulded and reticulated gilt and white decoration enclosing two medallions with chrysanthemum in iron red, against a pale blue ground, the flaring rim with a pierced stiff-leaf border, the multi-knopped stem in Renaissance style picked out in gold

Catalogue Note

The goblet is rendered in coulage technique, which was developed by the Sèvres factory in 1819 and served to make, amongst others, the very thin coquille d'oef  or eggshell porcelain. A Zarph cup designed by Régnier is illustrated by Tamara Préaud, Sèvres, des origines à nos jours, cat.no. 391, p.29, and again by M.-N. Pinot de Villechenon, Sèvres.
