Catalogue Note

Kändler's Taxa of November, 1745, records: Bauer, so das geschnittene Holz hauet, oder spaltet, zu der Graff Brühl. Conditorey [a farmer, chopping or splitting wood, to Count Brühl's confectionary]. A similar figure was sold in these Rooms, 3rd July 2003, lot 67.
