Catalogue Note
Gustav Elsass (1881-1947) attended the Hanau Design Academy and took over Hugo Leven's position as design director at the silver manufactory Koch & Bergfeld, Bremen from 1909-1945. There he designed his famous "Belle Epoque" flatware model no. 66700 in 1930, one of the most popular silverware patterns of the 20th Century. The present lots were designed in 1930 in a linear modernist style.
