Catalogue Note

Behrens created this pattern for his own use at the Haus Behrens in the artist's colony Mathildenhöhe in Darmstadt and exhibited there in 1901.  This pattern was also featured in an exhibition of "Neue Wohnräume-neues Kunstgewerbe" at the Warenhaus Wertheim, Berlin in 1905.
