Condition
Colours: The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration, although the overall tonality is much warmer and richer throughout with the pale purple tending more towards slate grey and the paper tone towards cream in the original.
Condition: This work is in very good condition. The sheet undulates throughout and it is securely hinged to the backing board in all four corners. There are tiny artist's pinholes in the top left, right and bottom left hand corners. There is a very light handling crease to the top left hand corner, two to the centre right of the top edge and two to the lower centre of the right hand edge. There is a further handling crease along the lower section of the left hand edge. There is a very light media accretion above the figure towards the upper centre of the composition. There are two minute spots of paper lifting to the centre of the top edge of the upper right hand quadrant and one to the tip of the top right hand corner. The catalogue illustration has cropped the bottom edge of the paper.
