Condition

Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is deeper and richer in the actual work with the background tending more to deep goldenrod hues. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There are some fine stable drying cracks to the areas of thicker ochre impasto at the top of the composition. There are scattered very fine tension cracks in places along the extreme turnover edges. There is a faint diagonal line in the centre of the lower left quadrant and a very faint white rub mark above left of this. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
