Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the red is warmer and more vibrant in the original work. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is no evidence of any retouching when examined under ultraviolet light. (i) Upon close inspection there is very minor wear to the extreme lower left corner tip and to the centre of the top and bottom edges. There is a further faint rub mark to the centre of the upper right quadrant. There is a very faint stretcher mark along the top edge. (ii) There is very minor wear to both left hand corner tips. There are three very faint rub marks: one on the lower right hand edge, one to the upper left hand edge, and one to the right section of the bottom edge. There is a very faint handling mark towards the upper right hand corner and there is a very light spot of media accretion where the balloon meets the string.
