Condition
Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is deeper and richer in the actual work.
Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is some craqelure in the thickly applied areas of orange gouache with some associated tiny specks of flaking and loss in several places. There is light undulation to the vellum backing throughout and upon close inspection, there are some minute spots of black media and handling marks on the vellum surface which appear to be original to the work's execution. These are most apparent beneath the top left and top right corners and along the right edge.There is no retouching apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
