Condition

The photograph is in very good condition overall. The photograph is framed in a black wood strip frame under plexiglas with a rabbet that provides space between the Plexiglas surface and the photograph. There are however a few small faint white spots of accretion scattered intermittently, primarily visible on the cowboy's black torso 23 5/8 to 24 ¼" from the left edge and 66 to 68 ½" up from the bottom, which are the result of contact with the plexi as it bows in slightly when moved. This can be a common occurrence with large sheets of Plexiglas glazing and such spots can be treated. The few small areas of inpainting are presumably original, as is to be expected in enlarged monumental photographs. There are no distracting surface scratches in the surface - only a few very fine scratches were detected on extremely close observation, primarily in upper right corner. There are occasional scattered pinpoint raised areas, visible in raking light, where particles may have been trapped between the print verso and the support.
