Condition

This work is in very good condition. There are light areas of discoloration to the unprimed canvas which appear to be inherent to the artist's working process, visible in the catalogue illustration. There are fine vertical hairline cracks extending approximately 6 in. located on the apex of the lower section of the central vertical fold. Close inspection reveals an extremely faint feather crack to enamel paint in the upper right hand section of the composition. Unframed. Please note that the correct medium for this work is enamel and gesso on gathered canvas and not as stated in the catalogue
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Catalogue Note

When I started making paintings, the word on painting was "PAINTING IS DEAD." I saw this as an interesting place for painting... I am still concerned with "art about art", but I am also aware that "art about art" still reflects the time in which it was made. Content is not denied... Content is not obvious... Content is sustained in the air or the vibe of the work. Steven Parrino
