Condition
This work is in good condition. There are few scattered and unobtrusive brown accretions. The surface is slightly dusty, particularly in the lower right corner. On the reverse of the canvas, there is a patched repair to the canvas located 10 in. from the right edge and 32 in. from the bottom edge, measuring approximately ¼ by 1 in. Under ultra-violet light, there is an area of restoration that fluoresces located along the left edge extending in 2 in., located 17-18 in. from the bottom edge. An area of faint fluorescing, probable stabilization of the cracquelure, is located 32 ½ - 33 ¼ in. from the bottom and 23 ¾ from the right edge. There is a small area that fluoresces located 18 ¼ in. from the right and 23 in. from the top edge - given the style and manner of the fluorescing, presumably the artist revisited this area. Along the top of the aluminum surface (upon which the neon text is mounted), in the black area, there are consistent vertical lines about 2-3 in. in height, extending the length. These areas appear to be underpainting and are visible in natural light. Framed in white wood.
