Condition

Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is brighter and more vibrant in the original. Condition: The work is in very good condition. There are scattered hairline cracks to thicker passages of impasto throughout the work to the upper left quadrant and to the central part of the composition. The paint surface of the yellow vertical stroke below the centre point is lifting and the extreme top part of the stroke is missing. There are a number of fine surface cracks around this area. Upon close inspection, scattered matrices of fine craquelure are visible in places around the composition, predominantly to passages of thicker paint as is to be expected. No restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.
