Colours: The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration, although the overall tonality is slightly deeper and richer in the original. Condition: The work is in very good condition and is composed of two canvases hinged together at intervals verso. Right canvas: There is very slight canvas draw to the upper and lower corners of the extreme left edge. There is a small rub mark and some light wear to the paint surface in the lower right corner. There further minor wear along the upper edge and to the centre and upper right edge. A very small spot of paint loss is visible to the extreme upper right corner. There are a number of light creases to the top horizontal section of the composition. Left canvas: There is some slight wear and rubbing to the lower left extreme corner and to the left extreme edge. A very small spot of paint loss is visible upon close inspection to the tip of the upper left corner. There is a small canvas indentation to the centre of the lower extreme edge and a further small rub mark to the right side on the same edge.
