Condition
This painting is painted on an unprimed piece of linen which is stretched on its original stretcher. The painting seems to be clean and most it is unlikely to clean any further. In the upper center right there are two dents in the canvas which are visible in a raking light. There are a series of dents which run across the bottom edge, four inches from the bottom edge, on the right hand side, again in the unpainted linen, which should be corrected. We see no reason why conservation cannot correct these uneven areas and some slight waves on the extreme right edge. Some conservation will be required here in order to flatten these dents. Otherwise the picture is in good shape.
