Condition

The canvas has been relined. The paint surface appears to be in good clean condition, there is a light even varnish which has been rubbed slightly in the upper right corner. There is a minor surface abrasion just off the right hand border and craquelure to the upper right corner. Ultraviolet light reveals a few spots of retouching to the grapes lower left and further strengthening to the outline of the stalk lower right. Otherwise no further evidence of retouching or restoration. Held in a plaster gilt frame in fair condition.
