Condition
The canvas is original. There is some minor frame abrasion and discolouration to the extreme edges. There is a minor spot of paint losstowards the centre of the lower edge and some further minor flecks of paint loss in other places towards the edges. There is minor craquelure in places and some light stretcher marks. There is a discoloured and uneven varnish, evidence of which is visible to the left hand side of the canvas. There is some cosmetic surface dirt. Otherwise in good condition. Ultraviolet light reveals some fluorescent areas of pigment, particularly to the central tree and foreground, but this is likely to be intrinsic to the work. Unframed.
