Condition

The canvas has been relined and there are two patches attached to the reverse in the upper left, not visible from the front. There are fine lines of craquleure throughout, particularly visible to the face and neck of the sitter. Otherwise good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals small spots of retouching to the sitter and her dress; larger patches of retouching to the background on the left of the sitter. Held in a decorative plaster gilt frame in fair condition.
