Condition
The canvas has been relined. There are two faint vertical stretcher marks running down the upper centre. Also, some signs of old paint seperation to the darker areas, notably in the lower left corner, stabilised by the relining. Ultraviolet light reveals sweeping retouching to patches of the sky and scattered spots throughout the foreground, trees and to figures. Held in a decorative plaster gilt frame.
