chacun illustrant plusieurs chapitres du célèbre roman écrit au XIème par Lady Murasaki, des bijin occupées à différentes activités à l'intérieur ou à l'extérieur, parmi des paysages d'arbres, de fleurs, de rochers et d'eau; les scènes habilement séparées par des nuages dorés les unifiant également; une urne rouge sur chaque en bas à gauche du panneau de gauche

Condition
Note that each screen comes with a box.
On both screens, some restorations along the hinges, and other areas, mainly in the gilded clouds; the latter are nicely embossed.
Colours overall are fresh and bright, especially the green and red.
Both mounted on a white brocade. Note a red urn at bottom left of far left panel of each screen.
Some light stain on the go table and the shoji behing the female players (far left panel of one screen).
The verso of each screen shows classical Japanese paper with design.
