of rectangular form on bracketed feet with hinged bevelled lid, the front, back and cover inlaid with mother-of-pearl and tortoiseshell, the lid and front decorated with mother-of-pearl vases issuing scrolling split and full palmettes on a tortoiseshell ground, the sides decorated with alternating panels of cube-trellis and diamond patterning, engraved foliate gilt hinges and lock, the interior lined with red silk

overall in good condition, minor areas of loss particularly to extremities with associated consolidation, minor loss of small triangular applique to left rear leg, support hinge missing back right, as viewed
