Very good condition, did not remove from mat, some small areas of cracking to heavy white pigments in sky, otherwise fine.

Jamie Wyeth said, "For almost two years I was obsessed with these birds and their habits.  I even saw them in my dreams."

Mary Beth Dolan writes, "During the late 1980s, Jamie became obsessed with purple martins and began collecting elaborate old martin houses to attract the birds.  This is one of a series of many paintings he did depicting purple martins and their houses."
