A Large Acoma Polychrome Jar

circa 1890, with concave base and tall walls, painted against the white slip in red, orange and dark brown, with an elaborate design of stylized avian motifs, accented with checkerboards and fine hatching, surmounted by a band of parallalograms beneath the darkened rim.
