A Zuni Polychrome Jar

circa 1880, with concave base, tall shoulder and a tapering neck, painted in dark red and brown against a white slip, with a pair of scalloped rosette medallions, flanked by scrolling designs, decorated with fine cross-hatching, all surmounted by a frieze enclosing a stylized "dagger" motif.
