A Zuni Polychrome Jar

circa 1880, with concave base, high shoulder, and an encircling groove beneath the slightly convex neck, painted in red and dark brown against the worn chalky white slip, with panels enclosing classic spiraling elements, surmounted by a narrow frieze of stylzied "dagger" motifs; two Native repairs with hide stitches on the neck.
