It has a deep old glossy patina overall, no visible repairs or restoration. There are a number of old nicks from use on various areas of the blade.

Catalogue Note
This fine example is intricately engraved with traditional designs over the entire striking end and tapering to the top of the shaft. The designs appear to represent a visual language and are reminiscent of those found on many Tongan clubs. There is further engraving around the base of the shaft
