the double ogee bowl with gilt rim, engraved with a panoramic landscape view of the armies within a rococo scrolling cartouche, inscribed below Vorstellung der wichtigen Bataille u. großen Sieges welchen Sr. Köni. May. V. Pr. über die Oeste. Armee bey Leuthen erfochten d. 5. Dec. 1757, inscribed within the scene Kö. Pr. Armee and Oest Armee, below Leuthen, Canth., Lißa, Frobelwitz and Neumark and above the scene Breslau, Protsch and Nypern, the reverse with a bust portrait of Friedrich II of Prussia in profile within a rococo cartouche, above a faceted knopped stem and conical foot engraved with stiff-leaves, the base with oval flutes, shaped footrim

The Battle of Leuthen took place in 1757 during the Seven Years War (1756-63).
