the cup-shaped bowl engraved with a continuous view of a river and buildings, inscribed STATT. KITZING. above, set on a tall hollow multi-knopped stem and conical foot with folded rim engraved with a foliate garland

Catalogue Note

For a glass of similar style attributed to Hermann Schwinger see that in the Bayerischen Nationalmuseum engraved with a view of Zawelshof (see Rainer Rückert, Glassammlung des Bayerischen Nationalmuseums, p.140, no.480). The form of the trees and other elements - including the buildings - are closely paralleled on this glass and on others attributed to Schwinger.
