Description

  • 12.2cm., 4¾in.
the waisted cylindrical form painted with buildings within a landscape framed by a rectangular amber-stained panel gilt with formal leaves, above a white panel inscribed Vue de St.Helena et de ses Anciens Chateaux près de Baden, the reverse with an amber-stained gilt arcaded border below the gilt rim above a narrow amber band with meandering gilt vine tendril, over a cogwheel foot heightened in gilding and part amber-stained star-cut base

Condition

The gilding is typically partially rubbed on the rim, especially along the top edge; there is also an area of vertical rubbing to the back within the meandering vine tendril; otherwise it is generally in good condition
