Description

  • 12cm., 4¾in.
the waisted cylindrical form painted with a titled view L'institut polytechnique et l'église de St. Charles à Viene, within an amber-stained rectangular panel gilt with formal leaves, the reverse with a gilt amber-stained arcaded and palmette border below the gilt rim, over a narrow lateral amber band with meandering vine tendril, above a cogwheel foot and part amber-stained star-cut base

Condition

There is a 4mm lateral scratch to the enamels in the top right hand corner of the front panel (within the clouded sky); there is some very typical minor rubbing to the gilding on the edges, particularly on the rim; otherwise generally in good condition
