Description

  • inscribed around the edge of the foot 'Der Mahler wohnt auf dem Spanischen Spitalberg Nr.227'
  • 12cm., 4¾in.
signed, the waisted cylindrical form painted with a gilt titled view of Entree au Chateau de Schönbrun, within an amber-stained rectangular panel gilt with formal leaves, the reverse with a crenellated band below the gilt rim enclosing rosettes, above a cogwheel foot and part amber-stained star-cut base

Condition

some typical minor rubbing to the gilding. There are areas of scratching to the interior of the glass on the reverse; there is also a deep lateral scratch running partly through the gilt inscription 'Schönbrun' and some minor wear to the enamels on the front.
