Description

  • 19.4cm., 7 5/8 in.
the faceted funnel bowl engraved with the initial W below a coronet within an elaborate cartouche, the reverse with a coat-of-arms flanked by allegorical figures seated on ledges, the reserve filled with formal geometric foliate scroll, masks, birds and vases, above a band of chevrons, the rim with lambrequin border, over a faceted knopped stem and wide conical foot engraved with foliate scroll

Catalogue Note

The arms are those of a family from Lubeck, possibly a branch of the Moren family. Gustav Pazaurek illustrates a glass with the same coat-of-arms, Die Gläsersammlung des Nordböhmischen Museums in Reichenberg, pl.15c.
