Catalogue Note

On November 15th 1961, Rietveld established a partnership with his fellow architects J. van Dillen and J. van Tricht, based in the Schröder house at Prins Hendriklaan 50 in Utrecht. In 1963, Rietveld was commissioned to design the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. After Rietveld's death a year later, Van Dillen took charge of the commission until his death in 1966, after which Van Tricht and his firm of Van Tricht & Timmler became responsible for the elaboration of the design and realisation of the museum until it’s completion in 1973
