Description
- Campbell A. Mellon, R.B.A.
- three cows in a pasture
- oil on panel
- 23.5x30.5cm.; 9¼x12in.
Condition
The board is generally sound. There are a number of vertical cracks to the paint surface, including a crack which runs the length of the panel to the left side, and further intermittent vertical cracks elsewhere, particularly visible to the upper and lower edges. The paint surface appears to be stable. Otherwise in good condition. Ultra violet light reveals a line of retouching along the crack line previously mentioned. There are a few further spots of retouching to the upper left corner and in places elsewhere to the sky and foreground. Held in a decorative gilt composite frame.
