Condition
The board is sound. There are some tiny scattered specks of brown staining to the nose of the car. The artist has used an experimental paint technique to create the impression of atmosphere and speed. Otherwise in good overall condition. There are some scattered fluorescent spots visible towards the lower edge but otherwise there is no sign of retouching under ultra violet light. Held in a simple gold and grey painted frame.

Catalogue Note
The present work depicts Juan Manuel Fangio driving a Maserati 250F whilst winning the 1957 French Grand Prix on the 7th July at the 'Les Essarts' circuit at Rouen. The race and Fangio's stunning victory are mentioned in David McKinney, Maserati 250F (The Crowood Press Ltd., 2003) and Denis Jenkinson and Bob Gill, Fangio (Joseph, 1973).
