Catalogue Note
The present work was executed on one of Sickert's visits to Venice, possibly his first visit of 1895-6 when he lived on the Zattere in Venice. His lodgings faced the Redentore Church on the Giudecca (across the Giudecca Canal) and this is the view captured by this delicate drawing.
