Catalogue Note

Tulips were a frequent still life subject for Gertler who painted them at various stages during his career in 1916, 1924, 1928 and 1932. The subject of Tulips and Mimosa was also tackled previously in 1929, a work which was acquired by Oldham Art Gallery.

We are grateful to Sarah MacDougall and Luke Gertler for their kind assistance in cataloguing this lot.
