Description
- Eileen Agar
- Vase with Flowers
- signed
- oil on canvas
- 55 by 46cm., 21 1/2 by 18in.
Condition
The canvas is unlined and appears to be providing a good sound support.
There is a tiny impact damage in the extreme lower right hand corner (0.5cm. diameter) and the exposed turnover edges of the canvas appear somewhat scuffed with occasional attendant paint losses, particularly around the lower left corner. There is also a short serpentine scratch in the lower right quadrant (c. 2in. in length) which could possibly benefit from attention. Otherwise the paint surface appears to be in very good original condition retaining excellent imapsto in the central section.
Inspection under UV light does not reveal any later retouchings.
Presented unglazed and 'floated' within a plain dark woode frame in good sound condition.
